Internship - Choose the right type for yourself



COMMERCIAL INTERNSHIP :
A commercial internship generally refers to an internship with any corporate house or a business concern. An internship helps you attain real world business experience while you are completing your studies. It is a tool to see how well you can apply your knowledge and skills in real time business situations and whether or not you are cut out for such a career.
The sole purpose of your internship is to gain experience and in today's world employers rank work experience higher than qualification.  But there is more to it, a commercial internship with any leading business concern or corporate house makes you work under the guidance of professionals. You get to see how professionals make decisions, what motivates them and how you can emulate them. SOCIAL INTERNSHIP

A social internship is an internship with a social activist, a NGO or a policy research organization where in you intern to work for their goals and the issues they work for. A social intern works like a regular employee and gets to do real work with the organization like field work, collecting information etc. Social internships are generally not paid, but the organization provides you with a certificate as recognition of your work.



A social internship is best suited for people who are doing their masters or bachelors in Social work or wish to be social entrepreneurs but is also good for students and people who wish to work for different issues and the society as a whole. To choose a specific vocation is very motivating because from the beginning you know what you want to become in life. Besides the economic benefits like plethora of employment opportunities, high earnings, job security, certain types of vocation help you serve the needs of the society, it gives you the option to become an entrepreneur and there is high level of satisfaction with your work. A vocational internship helps you work in the field you have chosen under the mentorship of experts in that field.
